Flying high: Davon takes off with new airport HQ
Davon has moved to a new location that gives us better transport connections with our clients and more room to manage our operations.
We’re now at Blackbushe Airport, Surrey, close to the M3 and 45 minutes from London by car as well as having good rail connections.
It’s the airport where Davon’s David Norman, a keen amateur pilot, keeps his Cirrus light aircraft. Generally, the Davon team use ground-based transport to get to meetings, but once in a while, we might make a flying site visit.
As well as being home to flying enthusiasts including David, Blackbushe is regularly used by executives with private and charter jets as a gateway to and from London.
There is a lot of open space for walking the office dog and a cosy café for keeping up the energy levels.
Charity
It’s also the headquarters of Aerobility, a flying charity for people with disabilities which Davon has supported for years.
History
The land became an airbase during the last war, having appeared in the sights of the War Department when it bought nearby Minley Manor to establish a tank training base.
At well over 650 acres, the massive airbase took a year to complete and the accompanying domestic accommodation covered much of modern-day Yateley.
